MP Sues For Libel
THURROCK MP Andrew MacKinlay is suing the BBC for libel over allegations made on Newsnight.
Mr MacKinlay, the MP for Thurrock since 1992, is claiming damages of £100,000 over the programme which went out on 30 April.
He is also seeking aggravated damages, and an injunction preventing repetition of the allegations at the centre of his claim.
