Thurrock is full of hidden gems, and I was lucky enough to discover four of them at the Coalhouse Fort’s Halloween fright night last weekend!

Three of them came in the form of my childhood heroes, the GHOSTBUSTERS! They were simply amazing and were everything I imagined a Ghostbuster to be. As well as doing a fine job patrolling the fort, they also spent a generous amount of time reassuring Thurrock residents about their ghostbusting business.

The fourth was the ‘Best Chestnut Seller in London’, Gus Bodur. Not only does he just sell chestnuts, but he sells chestnuts to celebrities (such as Brian May, Paul Weller, Jonathan Ross, Tom Hanks to name only but a few) at film premieres, and appears in music videos alongside singers such as James Morrison!

You can catch Gus selling his finest chestnuts at the premiere of ‘A Christmas Carol’ in London’s Leicester Square on Tuesday 3rd November!!
