IN THE seven months that Aveley councillor Wendy Herd has been a member of the Essex Police Authority, she has gained a keen understanding of the crucial issues in the county. Not least of which is the work of the Rape and Serious Crime Directorate.

Cllr Herd is fulsome in her praise of the South Essex Rape and Crisis Centre (SERICC) and wants to see the best practice around the country brought to the borough but also see the work of SERRIC shown as a beacon across the country as well.
