Work begins on Primrose Island at William Edwards

THEY ARE MAKING big changes on Primrose Island at William Edwards school and sports college.
It is a cherished spot at the school. Many of the former students will reminisce about their fishing days there.
But staff, students and a number of organisations are planning to make big changes at the island.
In this, the first of many films, YT speaks to deputy head, Lesley Durso and some of the pupils as to what they are planning to do.

I swam in the Primmy when a football went into the lake during PE, it got me out of football (which I hated) early into the showers (on my own) and 10 merit marks, all worth it despite it being October and about 2 degrees. You can safely assume that this was in the 80s, when the H&S brigade weren’t quite out of nappies yet!
