Thurrock 1s 4 Bishop Stortford 2s 3
This week’s game was always going to be a hard game considering Thurrock lost 7-0 when both teams last met.
Bishops started off the brighter of the two teams by going 0-2 up in the first 10 minutes after some sloppy defending, but this kicked Thurrock into gear and the come back was on! Thurrock started to create opportunities and with some excellent passing from Gary Tredget and the centre of Nick Stapleton & Kyle Taylor allowed Matt Gaut to slip in Capt Steve Abbott who started the scoring for Thurrock. Thurrock then started to pile the pressure on when again Matt slipped in Steve Abbott whose shot was saved and Matthew Gaut followed up and finished with perfection. 2-2
The second half was tough both ways but with some well worked play Thurrock created several short corners and Abbott stepped up to convert 3-2. instantly Bishop reacted and within minutes they were level again 3-3 Thurrock then stayed strong at the back with Tommy Ing taking control and in the last 10 minutes saw some quick passing between Dec Millane and Man of the match Steve Abbott who then slipped Jacob Agoro in to score his first goal of the season, Thurrock the stayed strong and with some last minute saves from Andrew Gaut kept the score at 4-3 a well deserved 3 points next week Thurrock travel to Stevenage.
