Purim celebrated by roshtikvah community
Date posted: 26-03-2012
The young community of Shenfield and Brentwood, A.K.A Rosh Tikvah, celebrated the festival of Purim amongst much laughter and frivolity.
Most of the children and several adults dressed up for the occasion whilst the Megillah (Story of Esther) was read.
Then in true Rosh Tikvah style, inordinate amounts of Hamantaschen (triangular, poppy seed-filled pastries) were consumed. Our main aim was to fill the children with sugar, then send them home. A goal we seem to regularly achieve. Next year dressing up is going to be made mandatory!
