Ockendon Academy rewards customer service

Deputy Store Manager from House of Fraser, Carol Cassera, Lakeside presented successful Year 10 Leisure and Tourism students with their ‘WorldHost – Principles of Customer Service’ certificates at an afternoon tea held to celebrate their achievement.
Carol said: “House of Fraser is committed to offering the very best in customer service, aiming to treat every customer as a VIP. As such, we are delighted to be part of this event and fully support The Ockendon Academy with their WorldHost Customer Service Training’.
Yvonne Evans, a Licensed World Host Trainer based at The Academy said: “This customer service training is normally targeted at adults and is part of the training scheme for the Olympics and Westfield, Stratford.
“The Ockendon Academy is the first school in the country to offer such an opportunity and sees this training as ensuring young people are ‘work ready’ and have the employability skills that focus on the customer’.
“This initiative has been possible with the support of The National Skills Academy -Retail, who are delighted with both the success and the outcomes of this pilot scheme. They are very keen to explore the partnership with The Academy further and in particular with the new Ockendon Academy Studio School so that both employers and young people benefit.
