Belhus 1st 217-7
Goresbrook 1st 217-5
These two clubs have played out some epic matches in the past but none more so than this dramatic tie in the Essex Sunday league east division at North Stifford. The Belhus script was played out well by Joe Joyce, with a stylish knock of 65 runs from as many deliveries, while brother Danny hit 64, also from the same number of balls faced. With number seven batsman Billy Winter remaining undefeated on 41, the Belhus total of 217 looked a challenging one. For Goresbrook, Israel Ochwo, Jordan Calverley and Kane Messenger took two wickets apiece. After tea, Goresbrook kept up with the required rate through opening batsman Kurt Whisker with 61, but number three batsman Michael Rooke took his team to the cusp of victory with a fine, aggressive 77 not out from only 62 balls. With Calverley and Afzal Hussain hitting 24 and 29 respectively, Goresbrook needed ten runs to win from the final over bowled by Paul Bennett. But Goresbrook could only muster nine runs and the match was tied – a fitting end to a thoroughly absorbing match. Connor Day picked up 2-32 from eight overs while Luke Clements and Bennett picked up one wicket each. The most economical bowler was Rikki Ellis whose tidy spell of eight overs cost just 26 runs, without reward.
Belhus 2nd 190 all out
Farningham 176 all out
Belhus successfully defended their average total thanks to two fine spells of bowling by Joshua Reynolds in this social fixture at Farningham on Sunday. Reynolds finished with figures of 4-28 from eight overs (one maiden) and he was supported by Greg Mendham, Michael Cansdale and Cliff Cansdale who took two wickets each. Earlier, it was Michael Cansdale who had top-scored in a hard-hitting cameo worth 42 runs, while Mendham was equally comfortable at the crease with 25. John Wilson had earlier struck a solid 38 while openers Naveed Mirza and Peter Clark contributed 20 and 14 respectively.

Garwood also performed well with the ball, his three overs cost just three runs but ended his spell without reward.

Orsett U11 311-0
Belhus fielded two under eleven teams on Sunday. In this fixture at Orsett Recreation Ground, the home side looked invincible as they stoutly defended any straight delivery but cashed in on anything astray of the wicket. The penultimate pairing of Jonathan Bright and Hassan Mirza was the most fruitful for Belhus as these two contributed 20 runs from the bat. Bright finished on nine not out and Hassan Mirza scored eleven runs. Top bowler for Orsett was Rajan with three wickets at a cost of just four runs from three tidy overs, one of which was a double wicket maiden.
