Thurrock Drama Festival promises delightful lineup
Date posted: 06-06-2012
Sunday 10th June 2012 sees the start of the Thurrock Drama Festival and already audience figures are likely to be up, this is mainly due to the fact the Thurrock Community have seen the Thameside Complex revived and refurbished to a high standard.
The host team Thurrock Courts players will be performing a full length play “How the other half Loves on Wednesday 13th June and a one act play “Erica and Me” on Friday 15th June. The week consists of Full-length plays and six one-act plays.
The Thurrock Drama Festival is still very new on the festival scene and only in its 18th year so it has a long way to be alongside festivals like Welwyn which is in its 54th year, never the less it is getting more and more support and members of the audience and these other festivals are coming along to Thurrock to see this new festival.
This year the programme is of a very high standard and promises some great drama for all tastes. The Festival once again will be the highlight in the Drama Calendar and those of you who have not ventured to see some of the talent at the Festival should make an effort this year and go along. Paul Fowler this year’s adjudicator says he is looking forward to coming to such a vibrant theatre where “There’s Always Something Happening” which is the Thurrock Arts Council’s motto. Paul was the National Drama Festival Adjudicator that was presented here in Thurrock in July 2010 with the grateful help of the Thurrock Thames Gateway Corporation.SUNDAY 10TH TO SATURDAY 16TH JUNE 2011
