CHAFFORD parents continue to campaign against the lack of school places in the borough.
A few weeks ago they protested outside the council offices at the lack of primary places for their pupils.
They managed to get a meeting with the portfolio holder in charge of education, cllr Oliver Gerrish as well as council officers.
Since then, they have started an e-petition (petitiononline.co.uk/petition/chafford-schools-for-chafford-kids/4468).
So far, they have gained over 300 signatures.
The parents will be at the community day at the Beacon church in Drake Road, Chafford Hundred on June 16th where you can sign their petition.
Parents have also continued to be in discussion with the local MP, Jackie Doyle Price regarding the feasibility of a free school similar to the one planned at the Gateway Academy in Tilbury.

The legacy of inefectual planning is the major cause of this type of issue, if you build that may houses on a small bit of land and do not provide more schools or larger schools then we will always have this issue, Thurrock is a growing community but the infrastructure to maintain that growth is severly lacking, the planning department needs to take a long hard look at itself as they have continued to fail the local people
Hats off to Jdp if she can swing a free school for chafford hundred.
The country is broke. There is no money for school building. It’s the reason the Labour partry are are turning purple over the governments stance on not borrowing even more money. They can see their mass immigration policy unravelling before their eyes. The government won’t admit the real reason behind longer hospital queues, longer waiting times to see a GP. The water companies in the south East are now blaming population growth for the droughts. Yet last year the government still let almost 600,000 into the country to stay. They won’t be happy until this island sinks under the weight of ever more immigrants. A big thankyou to all the main politica party’s but especially the wonderful, it wasn’t us guv, Labour party. Thanks for trebling the national debt to pretend mass immigration was a success. I’ll tell my children how successful it is when they spend the rest of their lives renting a house because they can’t afford to buy one and pretty soon won’t even be able to afford to rent one. Protest all they like. There will be no more school places.
