Petroplus protest underway

OVER 100 workers at Coryton Oil Refinery in Corringham have assembled outside near the plant to protest over its closure.
The refinery went into administration in January after its parent company, Swiss-based Petroplus, collapsed.
About 850 jobs are at risk after no buyer was found for the site.
The protesters left site at 0830 and head to Corringham town centre where they will be met by residents as well as MEP Richard Howitt, Thurrock Council leader John Kent and prospective parliamentary candidate for Thurrock (Lab), Polly Billington.
