A GMB report names two Stanford-le-Hope workers among 224 construction workers ‘blacklisted” by a construction company reports Build.co.uk.
The Information Commissioner has confirmed that 224 construction workers from around the UK were victims of blacklisting by Carillion. These names, on the files of the blacklisting body The Consulting Association, were released in the course of an Employment Tribunal earlier this year when Carillion was accused of blacklisting a construction worker in London.
The information is contained in a new GMB report “BLACKLISTING – illegal corporate bullying endemic, systemic and deep-rooted in Carillion and other companies” which is published at the GMB Congress in Brighton.
The publication coincides with a visit to Congress by up to 150 GMB members employed by Carillion at Great Western Hospital in Swindon who are taking part in the 20th day of strike action over bullying and harassment.
