A GROUP of Year 10 students at Hassenbrook Academy raised £253.05 for the Karis May Darling Foundation recently following a bumper cake sale. The students baked an amazing array of cakes, with help and guidance from Mrs Le-Strange, to sell to fellow students and staff which proved an outstanding success.
Alongside the cakes, they sold ‘Karis’ merchandise which helped to boost the final figure raised. Kerri Darling and Jane Hunt from the Foundation visited the students this week to receive the donation.
Mr Hattam, Assistant Headteacher at the Academy said, ‘I am very proud of what the students achieved today, the response has been absolutely fantastic and the cakes were delicious although I am not prepared to say how many I have personally eaten!”
