Convent exchange visit to Germany

ON the 30th Anniversary of the exchange with Gymnasium Odenkirchen in Germany, 20 girls from Grays Convent left England on Sunday 24th June to Monchengladbach. This cultural exchange between both schools started in 1982 and lasted since.

On this 30th edition, pupils were accompanied by Mrs Kyndt, Mrs Giles and Miss Dubois and all received a very warm welcome from their pen friends.

Miss Dubois (Head of MFL) said “It has been another successful exchange where pupils learnt so much about living in another country, experiencing another culture.”

Sarah Woodburn, Year 8 students enjoyed the experience “My whole exchange has been great, exciting and grossartic (fantastic!)”

All pupils will now wait until June 2013 for their pen friends to come to England.
