IT IS one of the hidden treasures of Corringham or the whole borough. Hidden away in Herd Lane, the club is almost a hark back to a golden era where employees of a company, at the weekend, flock to the club to play cricket, bowls or fish.
However, the club is or was owned by Petroplus and so its future is in doubt.
The members have started a plan of action. Their worst fears is that the club is shut down and sold off.
YT spoke to committee member, Paul Cairns about their concerns and what plan of action they have.

Lets all get behind saving this wonderful amenity
I visited this venue for the first time last year and was very surprised by the club, it is a fantastic location and well maintained, the clubhouse is a fantastic place and it really would be a shame if the local community lost this.
People really need to get behind the club and do everything in their power to ensure this is kept for the local people.
