IT HAS BEEN a special special time for Sandra Watt. Last month, she ran a leg of the Olympic torch relay.
Since then the torch has been raising charitable funds at Basildon Hospital, The Bell at Horndon on the Hill, Sessen Ryu Classes in the area, Summer Hill Garden Centre, several local schools and playgroups.
Thanks to everyone who has put money in their tins.
Last week, Sandra went to the National Portrait Gallery where she attended a VIP reception for the six torch holders whose portraits are adorning the walls of the famous gallery.

Sandra was one of the torch relay holders who was chosen to be photographed.
Her photograph will be there until early September.
Earlier this week, Sandra returned to her sponsors South Essex Rape and Incest Crisis Centre (Sericc) to show them the torch and discuss her experiences.
