Fire in derelict building in Ockendon

FIRE Crews were called to a detached derelict building on fire in the early hours of Sunday morning.The building was in Mollands Lane, South Ockendon.

The property measured 15 x 15 metres. Crews reported that the building was 100 percent alight.

It took four hours for four crews to put out the fire. The fire was extinguished by 06:35hrs. Crews used two main jets.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage, ECFRS and the police will carry out an investigation.
