Thurrock’s Princes Trust Team 1 complete their training programme

THE Thurrock Prince’s Trust team 1 completed their 12 week programme On Wednesday 8th August. The young people gave a presentation of their journey in front of councillors, officers, family and friends. They spoke about what it was like on the Prince’s Trust and how the project helps them got them motivated and thinking about a positive future.
15 young people from around Thurrock took part in a 12 week self development programme which will enable them to have the skills and the confidence that they need to find work or return to education. Most of these young people have now applied for jobs or college placements, some have part time jobs and two young people have full time employment and start work on Monday the 12th August
The team programme re engages young people and the programme activities build a sense of achievement in which young people develop their confidence, motivation and skills, thereby increasing their employability
The Mayor of Thurrock, Cllr Yash Gupta MBE presented the young people with their certificates including Level 1 Food & Hygiene, First aid, Health & Safety in the work Place & Key skills The Mayor had met them 3 times throughout the programme and said he had noticed a great change in these young people since the first time he met them at T Fest where they were collecting to fund their community project.
