LOCAL councillors dropped in to Lakeside last Wednesday to join in with the shopping centre’s “Monster Mania” family entertainment, part of its Great British Summer celebrations. Councillors Wendy Curtis, Cathy Kent and Andy Smith each helped local children decorate cupcakes and create vegetable monsters.
The shopping centre is offering free activities this August with Great British Food week preceding activities focused on Great British Culture (18-24 August) and Great British Music (25-31 August).
Kylie Minor, Acting Marketing Manager at Lakeside said, “We were delighted that Councillors Curtis, Kent and Smith accepted our invitation to have some fun with food and meet some of our young shoppers. The children were absolutely enthralled by the cupcake decorating and we were impressed with both their and the councillors’ creativity when they made their own monsters!”
The free activities take place every day between 10am and 6pm and continue until 31st August 2012.
