Grays School poets express themselves

FIVE students from The Grays School Media Arts College have had their poems published in a book entitled ‘Poems from Essex’ in a series called ‘Express Yourself Through Poetry’ published by Peterborough based publishers Young Writers.
Eve Clayton, Brooke Mensah, Harry Pacey, Joshua Michael-Ihunde and Joe Jackson, all in Year 9, submitted poems on a range of subjects including living in Grays, mobile phones and school, and were all successful in having their poetry selected for publication.
Eve said: ‘It feels really good that I’ve got something permanently printed in a book. It’s always there whenever I want to to read it.’
Harry said: ‘I feel proud of myself. I can tell my family members that I’ve got something published.’
Let’s hope that this is just the beginning of these and other students’ expressing themselves through their writing.
