Making a difference day at Piggs Corner

NGAGE, the community organisation, held a ‘make a difference day’ at Piggs Corner Complex in partnership with Thurrock Councils Housing Dept and Horticultural team.
Residents had been unhappy with state of the entrance into the Complex for a long time, and they asked ngage if they could help to improve it.
Residents were consulted about the improvements, and with the support of Thurrock Council and volunteers, the area has been re planted. Annette Lewis, community worker for ngage said “We had such a fabulous day. As well as the gardening project, we were able to run a number of activities including making bird feeders and lavender bags. Everyone had a great time and really enjoyed the activities. We would like to thank Thurrock Council for their help and support and making this happen”.
ngage are looking at developing a further Make a difference day project on the Purfleet Garrison estate on 27th October, and will be encouraging residents from the estate and volunteers to come along and get involved.
