Two set for court over failing to stop in Corringham

Two men are due to appear at court later today (Thursday) after having been charged with various motoring offences in south-west Essex.
A silver Renault Clio had failed to stop for police shortly before 2:30am on Wednesday, September 26 on St John’s Road in Corringham. Two men were arrested a short time later on nearby Gordon Road and subsequently charged with offences.
Jacko McKenzie, a 21-year-old unemployed man from Corringham, has been charged with one count of driving while disqualified, one count of aggravated vehicle taking and one count of failing to stop for police.
Ryan Layzell, a 21-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with one count of taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent, one count of theft relating to a crime in August and one count of criminal damage.
Both men have been detained in police custody prior to their appearances at Southend Magistrates Court on Thursday, September 27.
