Boxing: McCarthy in three rounds as Tilbury boxer marches on

TILBURY’S boxer Matt McCarthy put in a great performance to beat the dangerous Julius Rafael in three rounds at the York Hall.

Team McCarthy were out in force to see Matt take control from the start. His combinations picked off the east european and even from early on, the opponent was struggling.

The referee had to constantly warn Rafael for not boxing.

But after great work inside Rafael fell to his knees towards the end of the third round and the ref stopped the fight.
