Traffic woes all day on A13 at Stanford after crash

DRIVERS WERE trapped, a man was hospitalised and there were traffic woes all day on the A13 near to Stanford-le-Hope.
Over five fire engines attended at the busy road at 10.20 hrs between Stanford Le Hope and the Five bells roundabout.
The A13 was closed in both directions following a road traffic collision involving two lorries, a van and a car.
Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to release one man trapped in the car, while paramedics assessed two men in the van.
Crews used two sets of hydraulic cutting equipment as they work to release the man.
The air ambulance was in attendance.
Update 11:25hrs: Two people have been released from the van. One person remains trapped in the car. firefighters are using two sets of hydraulic cutting equipment to release them.
Update 11:50hrs: Firefighters have released the person trapped in their car, the two men in the van have also been released. Crews have made the vehicles safe.
Traffic was affected all day and even by 4.30pm there were 40 minuted delays at the junction.
