LAKESIDE Shopping Centre has donated £500 to a local Riding for the Disabled group. The donation has enabled the Bambers Green group, based just a few miles from Stansted Airport, to purchase new hats and equipment for its disabled horse riders.
Riding for the Disabled’s free sessions provide therapy plus a huge sense of achievement and enjoyment to people with disabilities. The Bambers Green group caters for local individuals as well as groups of school children with special needs from Harlow who enjoy riding the horses, gain confidence, new skills and connect with the animals in a positive way.
Kylie Minor, Acting Marketing Manager at Lakeside, comments: “With five riders from this national association recently selected as part of the Paralympics GB team, the difference this charity makes to individuals with disabilities is clear. We were delighted that we were able to offer our support and provide funds for vital equipment which will help this local group keep going.”
Lakeside’s Heart of the Community campaign supports two local causes every month with £500 donations. Members of the community are invited to nominate worthy charities and local groups that could benefit from a donation.
