AT the seventeenth anniversary of the Thurrock Writers Circle AGM Joy Ridgewell was voted for and returned to the Chairman.
Congratulations were given to Mary Vear for having one of her children’s stories published in Irelands Own Magazine.
Members attended the Thameside Theatre to see and enjoy the Courts Players in their production of Tomb with a View this month.
Our speaker this month was Louise Thorp, Louise has been working as a researcher script writer for the BBC, she has worked on Holby City and Eastenders and told of her experiences on finding out all that is involved in making sure the plots are authentic and true to life; what will work and what, even if they are true would not be suitable to present to the viewing audience.
Unless you hear how this is achieved no one has an idea how much work goes into each production. Everything has to be timed and checked by several departments to ensure a slick performance is produced. This was a most interesting evening to all the members and we are all interested to look at the websites Louise suggested and to try our hand at writing scripts.
The meetings of the TWC are held every two weeks.
The next meeting is on Wednesday 7th November
Speaker on November 21st is Rachel Gallehawk from Basildon Library
