GATEWAY Academy students were recently treated to a new ‘Reflection Room’ to give them the chance in their busy school day to stop, think and reflect. The multi-functional room is available for those with a faith to pray as well as those facing any concerns or worries to take time to think things through.
Students can visit the room after being referred by their College. They can listen to relaxation music, use mindfulness techniques such as colouring and view the wide range of religious artefacts on display. In addition, students who may have suffered a bereavement will have the opportunity to write their thoughts on a leaf, which can be hung on the reflection tree outside the room.
The room was officially opened by Head of School, Miss Grainne McLaughlin, along with Humanities staff and students.
