Selling England? UKIP’s Tim Aker calls for inquiry into C2C sale

TODAY’S agreement was reached to sell off C2C to an Italian transport company Trenitalia.

Cllr Tim Aker MEP said: “All essential UK infastructure and services should be kept in the hands of the UK government or of a British company. For too long successive governments have been committed to selling off UK services to the highest bidder rather than what’s best for the customer and the country.

“C2C has its failings. It needs to be more responsive to customer feedback and more accountable. It is, however, not as bad as some other train lines in the UK. I do worry now that services may change, prices may soar and we see even less accountability.

“I call on the Secretary of State for Transport to look into this sale to ensure that the quality of service will improve first and foremost. Rail users currently get a bad deal and this sell off seems to be motivated purely by big business’ profits.”

Tim is right to pick up on this, C2C has to have been one of the more successful Rail Services, enough selling off British Industries & Property for foreign gain, we need to be working for our own country.

Typical for the Nasty Party to allow everything to be sold to their friends and foreign countries.
