PURFLEET Community Hub will be celebrating its official Grand Opening by celebrating the local superheroes who make its work possible.
The hub’s superheroes are the many volunteers who give their time, energy and commitment to the community, and we are inviting Purfleet children to take part in a Superhero and Disney Fancy Dress Contest to reflect the valuable work carried out by local people.
The Grand Opening will feature a Purfleet Action Day, thanks to the support of Thurrock Council and Thurrock CVS. There will be skips for public use on Rapier Close and the junction on Lockyer Road/London Road so that people can get rid of their bulky rubbish. Litter clearance, advice on anti-social behaviour issues, Fire Service safety advice, the Police mobile unit and many other key local services will be there.
In the hub, at 53 River Court, Centurion Way, the fancy dress contest will be judged by the Deputy Mayor of Thurrock, Cllr Tunde Ojetola, with Easter eggs as prizes for the best costumes. Local services including housing, local area co-ordinators, voluntary sector organisations and many others will be in the Marketplace talking to local people about how to get support and advice.
The hub will open at 10.30, with the competition being judged at 11am, and will close at 2.30pm. For further information please contact: PurfleetCommunityHub@gmail.com
