Thurrock libraries set to celebrate National Bookstart Week

Library fun in Thurrock

THURROCK libraries will once again be celebrating National Bookstart Week from 5 to 9 June 2017 with special ‘Explore Outdoors’ story time sessions in the local community.

National Bookstart Week encourages families to have fun reading together, anywhere and at any time.

This year’s theme is ‘Let’s Explore Outdoors’ and children who attend events will receive a free copy of the picture book ‘Everybunny Dance!’ by Ellie Sandall.

Children’s reading charity BookTrust, supported by Hodder Children’s Books, has more than 450,000 copies to give away across the country.

So hop along to the following special story time sessions and receive a copy of ‘Everybunny Dance!’, a rhyme time sheet and make your own rabbit ears to take home with you.

The events taking place are:

Wednesday 7 June, 11am to 11.30 am at South Ockendon Centre

Friday 9 June, 11am to 11.30am Hardie Park, Stanford Le Hope

Friday 9 June, 2.15pm to 2.45pm East Tilbury School (on the green – if wet weather the East Tilbury event will be held in the library in the Village Hall)

These events are free and are suitable for pre-school children.

Regular baby rhyme times held in libraries throughout the week will also be giving out Everybunny Dance, bunny ears and rhyme time sheets. Current times are at thurrock.gov.uk/libraries
