SOUTH Essex College put on an amazing event at Adventure Island for applicants due to start in September 2017.
The College with campuses in Southend, Basildon and Thurrock held a beach party at the popular seafront theme park.
Guests were treated to a fun filled day which included free wristbands allowing them on all the rides and live performances from current Dance and Music students plus lots of opportunities to meet new friends.
Applicants Jack Newman and Shannon Brown are due to join the College’s Dimension Dance Company after the summer. They’ll be studying Level 3 Dance and thought the day was a great way to meet their future classmates.
Jack said: “I came along just expecting to have a fun day on the rides, I ended up performing in the dance flash mobs with the students! Everyone was so welcoming and supportive, I’ve had a really good day.”
Music students took to the beach stage to play to the crowds. Jodie Tarrant, from Billericay, studies Level 3 Music Performance at the College’s Southend Campus. She performed acoustic songs with fellow student, Jack Tobin.
She said: “It was a really cool experience, the audience was full of young people having a great time. The College Music department offers us brilliant opportunities to perform at many different places, I’m excited to get involved in more events during my second year.”
Alice Massey, the College’s Event Coordinator, said: “It was a fantastic day, we saw so many new students during the event and the feedback was great. We can’t wait to welcome them to the College in September.”
