Gateway Learning Community remember those who have served

PUPILS and students from across the Gateway Academy and the Gateway Primary Free School, marked the 11th day of the 11th hour of the 11th month by gathering together, showing unity and respect for the fallen. 1600 pupils and students along with 200 staff made for quite unifying and thought provoking commemoration in the Courtyard on the Marshfoot Road site.

Head of School at the Gateway Academy, Mrs Grainne McLaughlin, said “I am incredibly proud of our staff and students who gathered together today to remember the fallen. It is always a thoughtful and reflective moment and seeing us all together in one space makes us truly grateful for all that we have.”

Pupils from both the Gateway Primary Free School and Tilbury Pioneer Academy also visited the cenotaph in Tilbury to lay a wreath on Sunday. I am always deeply moved by their understanding and respect.”
