Little Bromley is a tiny village in North Essex, but, based at a picturesque but disused village church it hosted 600 runners for the Essex 10k Road Championship on Sunday (8th).
Six Thurrock athletes made the trip and they came up with some great performances.
Toni Radley led the charge by taking the silver medal in the FV45 section with a time of 42:18, her best time for some years. In the same age group Jody Farrell was a superb 5th; her time was 45:40.
Sue Beck completed the ladies team with a time of 51:51 which gave her a position in the first half of the ladies race.
Paul Mitchell was delighted with his pb of 41:28 in the MV40 section. Chris Applegate who only returned to the sport over the winter enjoyed his outing with 5th place in the strong MV60 section – his time was 41:19.
Team manager, Bernie Johnson MV60, splashed round the flat, fast course in a good for age time of 47:05. He was 10th in his age group.
