A SMALL selection of students from the Gateway Academy recently attended a leading customer relationship management company, Salesforce, in London as part of their Career Ready mentoring programme.
The day started by entering the building and going up to the 26th floor via the exterior lift, giving students the chance to view landmarks such as St Pauls Cathedral, the Post Office tower and directly opposite Salesforce office was the Gherkin and the Shard.
The day included learning about the company both in the UK and overseas, what personal branding is and the importance of networking. The afternoon session was spent fine-tuning interview skills, competency- based and curve ball questions and an “Ask the Panel” Q&A session where students applied their new- found knowledge of curve ball questions to the panel of employees.
The day ended with a tour of the 44-storey building and the chance to check out additional landmarks across the city of London.
Mrs Anna Jones, Raising Standards assistant at the Gateway Academy, said “The Career Ready trip to Salesforce was a fantastic experience for the students involved. I would like to express how proud I was of the students for their outstanding behaviour and participation in the workshops that were run by the staff from Salesforce.”
