Grays: Police search Hathaway Road area after reports of firearm being used

ESSEX Police have issued a statement after concerns that a firearm was used in Grays on Saturday night.

An Essex Police spokesperson said: ” We received a call at around 8.30pm yesterday, Saturday, October 13, about a loud noise coming from a vehicle in Hathaway Road, Grays.

The caller was concerned that the occupants may have been in possession of a firearm.

We carried out an extensive search in the area to locate the vehicle described without success.

We also searched for any evidence that a firearm had been discharged and there was no damage to properties, no victims or any additional calls.

Anyone with information is asked to call Grays police station on 101 quoting incident 1407 of 13/10 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

    People are wising up, that if you have a problem and call the Police and say you think there is a firearm involved you get a decent response.
    Make the same call and don’t mention firearms and the Police don’t even bother to attend a lot of the time.

    Lesson here: If we had a decent service from the Police you would avoid this kind of issue.
