Man has jaw broken in road rage incident near North Stifford

ESSEX Police is appealing for information after a man suffered a broken jaw after being assaulted following a road related disturbance in North Stifford.

A spokesperson said: “We received reports at around 2.45pm on Sunday, November 4, that the victim got into an altercation with two men who were driving a van, which has been described as grey Vauxhall Vivaro.

Both vehicles then stopped in Arterial Road and the occupants of both vehicles got out.

The victim was then punched and knocked to the floor before the suspects, described as being black, drove off.

The man, aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital with a broken jaw and underwent treatment which included having screws and plates fitted.

    Road rage is becoming an epidemic.

    On my way to work at a Corringham supermarket yesterday, I saw two people at each other. The guy in the wrong just could not see he was in the wrong whatsoever.

    A more stringent driving test might help.
