Blackshots club prepares for emergencies
THURROCK Harriers Athletics Club volunteers attended Basic Life Support Skills training last week.
Thanks to various forms of fundraising, including proceeds from a summer BBQ, money from the Jack Petchey Awards Scheme and a generous donation from the family of John Dowsett, a very much respected past member of the club; the club now has a defibrillator and is much more prepared for emergencies which could arise during the use of the athletics facility at Blackshots.
The defibrillator is also available for any local community emergencies that could occur while the club is open.
We were very impressed with the course, proved by the Thurrock Voluntary First Responders and are grateful for their friendly and informative training.
