MILK business Ecofresh Dairy, based in Fobbing. has gone from strength to strength this year with more new customers coming on board daily.
David Attenborough’s Blue Planet series at the start of 2018 focused on one use plastic waste ending up in oceans around the world.
Many local residents across Thurrock are now keen to look at their weekly shopping and how waste from this impacts on the environment.
Paul Luke, Ecofresh Dairy owner said “from when we started the business this year we now have nearly 300 customers across thurrock and this is growing daily”. Social media has helped spread the word and we have also been out at the local shows and carnivals during the year.
The local round in Corringham and Stanford Le Hope is delivered from an old school 1975 electric milk float and 100% of our deliveries are made in returnable pint glass bottles. We are delivering as much as possible in these glass bottles to include all grades of milk, various flavour juices and milkshakes. The bottles are used over fifty times each compared to a one use plastic bottle.
Paul has recently put Thurrock well and truly on the map with his colourful enamelled milk bottles used on the rounds. The first with the statement “use of plastic is rather drastic, have class buy your milk in glass, delivering all your daily essentials across thurrock. The second bottle just gone to print detail Paul’s Bee Kind Foundation and the upcoming Christmas present appeal.
Paul said “Businesses across Thurrock are now looking at advertising their own businesses on the rear of our bottles, just 2500 bottles will make 125,000 journeys across Thurrock and be seen in households, fridges and breakfast tables across the borough for years to come”
