GIVE a Gift continues to soar this Christmas as more than 1,000 presents have been donated for Thurrock children in need.
The initiative has seen tremendous success in its first week as hundreds of people continue to visit the Give a Gift store and pick a red star representing a Thurrock child in need who may not receive a present this Christmas. Members of the public can find the perfect gift and return it to the shop where it will be checked, wrapped and hand delivered in time for Christmas Day.
Gold stars are also available on our Christmas tree, which members of the public receive after making a donation to Giving for Thurrock (GiFT).
Based on the Level 1 of intu Lakeside, the Give a Gift store is open through till the close of business Sunday 9 December. It is located close to House of Fraser, next to HSBC and opposite Greggs.
Cllr Sue Little, Portfolio Holder for Social Care, said “Once again Give a Gift warms our hearts this Christmas showing the amazing generosity of our community to help those in need.
“Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to donate a gift, no matter how big or small, and make someone’s Christmas day so very special.
“Whilst in the store you are also able to find out more about fostering for Thurrock and donate to Giving for Thurrock.”
