THE Royal Opera House Thurrock Community Chorus is holding two free taster sessions in January 2019. The taster sessions are open to all those with lower range voices as these are especially needed in the Chorus.
The 120 strong Royal Opera House Thurrock Community Chorus is a much loved group of Thurrock residents and workers who come together to sing and to perform. It is drawn from a very diverse range of people, young and old, with a variety of experience and knowledge. It sings an ambitious variety of song, often performing pieces in the original language. It performs in Thurrock and at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. It is friendly, committed and each member is passionate about singing. It now needs some new deeper voices.
Two free taster session take place on Monday 7th and 14th January 2019 at Palmer’s College, Chadwell Road, Grays. The sessions begin at 7.15pm.
Any men, or women with lower voices, who live, work, study or volunteer in or around Thurrock, are invited to attend and find out more. The lower age limit is 8 years but there is no upper limit. Sopranos or altos who are interested in joining, will be admitted in the autumn, as the Chorus cannot accommodate any upper voices at this point.
There is no audition and no requirement to sing alone or read music. No previous singing experience is required, the Royal Opera House Thurrock Community Chorus is open to all levels of experience.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01708 891200 to register your interest in attending.
