Friday Night 17th May from 7pm til 10pm Free Entry (UK Urban Music Pioneers)

(TDR) will bring a foundation urban artist Potential Badboy to Grays Thurrock.

Let’s get one thing straight; Chris McFarlane aka Potential Badboy is no new kid on the block. Since day one Chris has been a pioneer of Jungle, under various aliases, in more projects than you realize, always favoring pushing musical creativity over chasing the limelight.

His first release ‘Autoload’ with Noel Barnes (Studio 2) in ’91 led him to link with Paul from Ibiza Records, who took him under his wing and kick started his career in the early days of Jungle. In 1992 C.M.C was born and ‘Greetings’ was unleashed followed by the birth of Potential Badboy with ‘New Style’. With knowledge and confidence growing, Chris started up Limited E Edition records under the Ibiza banner where his underground hit Work The Box (Let’s Go) took the scene by storm. As Chris’s influence in Jungle strengthened he joined SOUR Records in 1994 and worked with the likes of Jason K (Top Buzz), Shy FX & T-Power.

The following years brought great success for Chris with his Forward LP being released in Japan and receiving a Gold Disk for his remix of Greater Love on Jungle Mania 2. But with all this going on Chris wasn’t settled, constantly being creatively restricted in the Jungle scene he turned his focus to the Garage world working for MCA on official remixes for Shaggy, Mary J Blige, Nelly, Estelle and more under his 3rd Eye Productions name.
