Kickboxing: Lilie wins world title in Kent

THURROCK kick boxer has landed a world title in Kent.

Lilie Copperthwaite, aged 14, is a full contract kickboxer and K1 fighter who trains out of Essex Kickboxing Academy.

Her coach is multiple world champion Reece Rowell as well as renowned Steve Kerridge and her dad Nick Copperthwaite.

Lilie won her first ICO World title 25th November 2018 at Medway Mayhem in Kent with a unanimous decision over five rounds of full contact kickboxing and took the win from a girl from Tamworth.

Then on May 12th at Medway Mayhem 2 in Kent, Lilie was challenged for her world title from an Irish boxer. Lilie stopped the girl in round three as she retired from the fight.

Her proud mother Vicky said: “This is such a massive achievement for a young 14 year old as it’s very rare to find girls at such a high level in this sport.

“We are all so proud of her. She trainsfor two hours day also with regular running and hill sprints. Lilie eats a well balanced healthy diet so she is in the best condition she could be”.
