South Basildon & East Thurrock MP Stephen Metcalfe officially cut the ribbon to declare the annual Horndon-on-the Hill Feast & Fayre open.
Once again the event was blessed with glorious sunshine and crowds flocked to the village to enjoy a host of entertainment and, in line with the ‘Food Glorious Food’ theme, food markets on both days. A record entry of runners took part in the Horndon 10k run on Sunday.
Feast & Fayre coordinator Kim Towlson said: “It was a magnificent weekend albeit somewhat curtailed by the England v Germany World Cup match on Sunday afternoon.
“Feast & Fayre is a very special event which brings people together in a totally unique way and I would like to thank everyone who participated and especially the organising committee for working so hard to make it so successful again.”
