EVEN AFTER just two weeks it is good to see Thurrock volunteers donning the Games-makers uniforms and heading to the Olympic Park.

The Paralympics begin on Wednesday and it is expected to be one of the best attended events ever.

Transplant champion, Liz Hosford has been at the park for a few days.

Liz said: “I am an ambassador with the Surinam team so will be shepherding them around the park.

“There is such a buzz at the park that we all can’t wait for the Games to begin.

Gateway Academy PE teacher, Ryan Jones is also at the Games.

Ryan said: “I have been assigned to the French wheelchair Basketball team who are a really nice group.

“This is such a great event and we are already having a great time.

And a special mention to Grays ath fan Phil “Stifford Blue” who was proudly wearing his uniform at a Grays game last week having just come from a rehearsal.
