THE TILBURY football academy has only been running for six weeks but it is already paying dividends.
The team took on Thurrock at Chadfields on Wednesday afternoon. Although they lost 1-0 (hotly contested penalty) and tempers frayed after a very ropey two-footed challenge by a Dockers defender (its on the film), it was a good run out and a step in the right direction.
After the game, we spoke to Paul Vaughan about how the academy operates, who funds it and what do the students gain from it.
