A HAPLESS burglar fell from the roof and straight into court in a failed attempt to burgle Ockendon Academy.
Basildon magistrates court heard that at 0200 hrs on August 9th, Neil Hair, 25 had entered the Eriff Drive along with another unidentified male.
Having rifled through the school, they both attempted to leave by climbing up to the roof. However, Hair hair-brained scheme came crashing to earth, when the unemployed Grays man fell off the roof.
Hair, left blood splatters all over the floor. Consequently, scenes of crime officers were able to collect his DNA.
The court heard that over £3,000 worth of damage was caused and several laptops stolen.
Hair pleaded guilty to burglary with intent to commit damage.
The case was adjourned for pre-sentencing reports.
