Record-breaking pantomime comes to an end!

Aladdin, the 2011/2012 pantomime at the Thameside Theatre, Grays staring Dean Gaffney and Craig Phillips came to an end last weekend after a fantastic record breaking run. The pantomime which was this year produced by Polka Dot Productions saw a record number of people in the audiences and has received many great reviews not only from within the world of theatre but also from local people who came to see the show.

Two free workshops are taking place in the West Barn at the High House Production Park, Purfleet between 11am – 1pm and 2pm-4pm on Saturday 14 January to for young people develop ideas. No previous experience of playing or creating music is necessary – just ideas. Composer Duncan Campbell is leading the workshops, giving expert advice and helping the budding young composers create original and exciting fanfares.

ON SUNDAY he was filming in Belfast but today (Wednesday) he was rehearsing for the Aladdin panto at the Thameside theatre in Grays. Ever popular Craig has created a real buzz of excitement since it was announced that he was stepping into the breech.

In the interview, Kenny modestly describes it as ‘coals for Newcastle” when infact he went into the home of jazz and wowed them.

Residents join the Thurrock Community Chorus in a concert of opera and carols

Thurrock Community Chorus was joined by professional opera singers Nicola Wydenbach and Andrew Rees, from the Royal Opera House, who performed pieces by Mozart and Verdi. The whole audience was invited to sing the carols and everyone was in great voice.
