Man trapped after road traffic collision on A13

A MAN was trapped in his van after a road traffic collision on the A13 in the early hours of Sunday morning. Firefighters used small gear, bolt croppers and blocks to free a man trapped in his van.

Family escape house fire in Corringham

FIRE CREWS wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to tackle a fire in a conservatory. Crews were originally called to a fire in a garden in Fobbing Road, Corringham at 3am but on arrival at the scene reported that the rear of the conservatory was 100 per cent alight.

Biker critical with life threatening injuries after smash on Hogg Lane, Grays

A SPOKESPERSON for EEAST said: “We were called to the aid of a man, who was believed to be in his 40s, who had suffered life-threatening head and chest injuries. He was treated on scene and was sedated before being airlifted to the Royal London Hospital, where upon arrival he was believed to be in a critical condition.”

Fire crews slam Stanford residents for “Ignoring” the Silent Killer

FIRE CREWS were called to a fire which started in the blocked flue of a gas boiler in St Margarets Avenue, Stanford-le-Hope. Using one hose reel jet crews had extinguished the fire by 09:42hrs this morning (Monday January 27th).The occupants had been alerted to a problem in their boiler by a carbon monoxide detector sounding at the weekend, but had chosen to ignore the alarm.

Inquest date set for Chafford woman

AN INQUEST will be held on Wednesday into the circumstances surrounding the death of a Chafford woman. Anita Belcher, 42, died after falling from the Queen Elizabeth bridge on May 8th last year. The inquest is expected to last one day.
