On Good Friday morning a coffee morning was held at Mrs Hazel Vaughan’s house in Aveley. It was well attended by 30 plus friends and neighbours as Hazel and daughter Mandy are well known for her baking abilities.
A total of £400 was raised from the sale of home baked cakes and raffles. The money is to be donated to The Frank Ahrens Ward in Basildon Hospital, where Hazel received life saving care before Christmas. She wants to thanks all the doctors and nurses for the care she received.
The money will be augmented by that raised when Hazel’s son in law, Craig McGee, runs in the Brighton Marathon in a few weeks time.
The family wish to thank Tesco’s for a large stuffed toy, The Park Inn for a lunch for two, Orsett Hall for tea for two, JR Newsagents (Aveley) for a box of chocolates and the Co-operative (Aveley) for an Easter Egg, all for the raffle prizes.
