A ten-year-old boy from South Ockendon was lucky he was not more seriously injured when he was in collision with a car in Darenth Lane around 6.20pm on Thursday, May 27.
The boy ran into the road and was in collision with a silver Toyota 4X4, driven by a local woman. The boy was taken to Basildon hospital by ambulance and following scans he has no serious injuries, but has cuts and bruising and is currently on a ward. The driver was shocked.
Police have spoken to witnesses but any potential witness who has not contacted them is asked to phone Laindon Policing unit on 0300 333 4444
